According to a 2013 study by Hodnett et al, compared with birthing people who had no continuous support, people with Doulas were 28% less likely to have a cesarean, 9% less likely to use any pain medication, 31% less likely to use synthetic oxytocin to speed labor, and 34% less likely to view their childbirth negatively.
